Emeren, through its newly incorporated subsidiary Emergo (a development platform for solar powered EV carports) and the Koelliker Group, a leading hub of complete, integrated solutions for electric mobility, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the joint expansion of an electric mobility infrastructure in Italy.

The agreement concerns the realization of PV carports and EV charging stations throughout the country. This strategic synergy is one of a kind, for it brings together Koelliker’s consolidated expertise in the automotive sector and Emeren’s extensive solar PV technology and energy market know-how, and it’s meant to go beyond the current automotive market paradigm.

“This partnership is part of our broader vision of fostering the diffusion of e-mobility as the future of mobility itself, combining sustainability, comfort and efficiency,” commented Marco Saltalamacchia, Executive Vice President & CEO of the Koelliker Group. “The way we imagine the mobility of the future goes beyond the diffusion of electric vehicles powered by clean energy, and yet this is an indispensable moment to fulfil our vision. This agreement is a stepping stone for a future we are building here and now.”

Marcelina Sobczak, CFO of Emeren, added: “Entering into the electric mobility market is an exciting challenge for us. After consolidating a pipeline of ground-mounted and industrial PV projects we are ready to move forward and differentiate our business lines, exploring new possibilities and expanding our competences. This is why we set up Emergo, our brand-new platform for developing EV infrastructure. Emergo aims at designing and installing products for electric mobility, and creating an energy-efficient, sustainable, and finely tuned system for the growing fleet of e-vehicles. Koelliker is the ideal partner for such an endeavour, for its history and its vision are a true guarantee of success.”
