In order to improve Tupperware's carbon footprint, a photovoltaic solar plant was installed at the Montalvo plant to produce clean energy for self-consumption.The well-known brand of plastic boxes and accessories, for storing and handling food, turned to Helexia which, in addition to future management and maintenance, has already invested 900 thousand euros in the infrastructure and installation of the solar plant with carport and ground area.Installation at the factory will allow access to an installed power of 973 kWp with an estimated annual production of green energy of 1553 MWh, which corresponds to around 15% of the total electrical consumption of this European unit.The Montalvo plant has the highest production volume in all of Europe.In a statement, the company also reveals that the photovoltaic solar plant, which had technical collaboration with Prosolia Energy, will enable a reduction in CO2 emissions by about 730 tons per year, equivalent to the production of 18,700 trees per year.
