The James Webb Space Telescope, a successor to the Hubble Space Telescope, was launched from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana on December 25, 2021. The incredible telescope is now on its way to embark on a voyage to unearth the unknown facts behind the birth of the Universe. In the meantime, the Twitter profile of the NASA Webb Telescope engaged in a witty ‘blocking game’ with the Twitter profiles of NASA Sun, NASA Moon and NASA Earth. The funny banter will not only increase your knowledge about this one-of-a-kind telescope, it will also make you giggle.

The Twitter profile of the NASA Webb Telescope shared some screenshots of the Twitter profiles of NASA Sun, Moon and Earth that were blocked. Confused? Let us make it a bit simple for you.

The sunshield is installed on the Webb Telescope is made up of a material called Kapton where each layer is coated with aluminium to reflect the sun's heat back into space. Along with that, it is supposed to reflect back the heat and light from Earth and the Moon as well! That’s why the Twitter profile of the Telescope went ahead to ‘block’ the Sun, Moon and Earth from its list of followers.

“Sorry for the shade, @NASASun, @NASAMoon & @NASAEarth! But you're just not cool enough. Now fully deployed, our sunshield blocks your heat & light so that our mirrors will be able to detect faint heat signals in the universe,” read the caption.

The witty post has garnered over 43k likes and several reactions. Netizens totally loved the interesting facts that the post had to offer. Don't forget to check the conversation between the Twitter profiles in the comments section.

Thanks for understanding, @NASAMoon. Blocking you is for the crater good

Okay fine, we'll work on our communication and keep in touch via @NASASCaN. What else is our antenna for?

Power move, @NASASun. Thanks for keeping us charged!

For the uninitiated, the James Webb Telescope has been launched to study infrared light from celestial objects with much greater clarity than ever before. The Telescope will take six months to reach Lagrange Point (used by spacecraft to reduce the fuel consumption needed to remain in position). From that point, the Telescope will explore back over 13.5 billion years, and provide data to compare the faintest, earliest galaxies to today's grand spirals and ellipticals, shedding light on the process of their evolution.
